29 October 1998: Saudi Arabia“s newly formed Zamil Industrial Investment Co. (ZIIC) said it made a net profit of 64.3 million riyals (US$ 17 million) for the nine months to September, 1998. ZIIC was formed earlier this year by the merger of three privately owned Saudi firms – Zamil Steel Buildings, Zamil Air Conditioners and Zamil Glass Industries. The Dammam-based company said recently that it expected to generate about 1.2 billion riyals in sales for the whole year. ZIIC figures showed it sales in the first nine months stood at 936.2 million riyals.
