Jane Skeeter, founder and president of Chatsworth-based UltraGlas, has been named one of 10 Business Women of the Year by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. Several years back, Skeeter was honoured as Woman CEO of the Year. Since this award programme began 10 years ago, 120 professional women have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in business. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the programme in 2011, the publication honoured all past honourees at a special event in February, also selecting 10 Business Women of the Year. In 2010, Ms. Skeeter also won the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)/Wells Fargo Trailblazer Award that annually honours three women entrepreneurs for their talent, drive and entrepreneurial spirit. Established in 1988, UltraGlas is a recognized world leader in the design and manufacturing of thermally embossed architectural glass, which include 15-100% recycled glass content. The company has also developed UltraGlas-e (patent pending) to divert millions of tons of scrap glass from landfills throughout the country and around the world.
