Turkish auto glass manufacturer Trakya Cam will invest TRL 33.4 trillion (USD 21.5 million/EUR 17.9 million) in equipment upgrades and a capacity increase of its plant in Luleburgaz, northwestern Turkey, the company said on 22 May 2004. The investment is to be completed by end-2005. Trakya Cam, which is part of Turkish glassware and chemicals group Sisecam, posted a net profit of TRL 87.3 trillion (USD 56.1 million/EUR 46.8 million) for 2003, compared to TRL 86.7 trillion (USD 55.7 million/EUR 46.4 million) for 2002. The company plans to build two glass factories in Targovishte, northeastern Bulgaria, which will cost some USD 170 million (EUR 141.5 million). The factories will manufacture sheet glass and glassware and most of the output is to be exported. Trakya Cam is based in Istanbul and its paid up capital stands at TRL 227.6 trillion (USD 146.3 million/EUR 121.9 million).
