15 April 1999: US-based fibre optic products maker SpecTran Corp. said George Roberts will serve the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Roberts replaces John Rogers, who has been acting chief financial officer during the last six months, according to the company. Last October, SpecTran said that Bruce Cannon resigned as its chief financial officer for personal reasons. Roberts served most recently as senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and chief executive of Microelectronics & Computer Technology Corp., a consortium of ten major US corporations cooperating in the areas of information technology and advanced electronics.
