11 February 1999: Dr. Bjoern Sandt, 57, has been appointed supervisory board chairman at Schott Zwiesel AG. He is a member of the management board at majority shareholder Schott Glas in Mainz. The previous chairman Helmut Fahlbusch, 65, is to step down after retiring from his position as management board chairman at Schott Glas at the beginning of the year.
