9 October 1997: The German company Schott-Zwiesel Glaswerke AG, part of the Schott group, recently opened a new glass factory in Husinec u Prachatic for manufacturing and refining glass. It is the company“s third investment in the Czech Republic. In Valasske Mezirici, it makes television screens; in Lanskroun, it makes connectors from glass and metal for electronic purposes. The new DM15-million factory should make six million glasses a year from so-called new glass without added lead; the glass factory“s yearly turnover should exceed Kc0.5 billion.
