French construction materials company Saint-Gobain said 22 November 2007 that it is proceeding with the sale of its packaging unit and is in talks with French investment company Wendel about the possibility of granting the investor representation on its administrative board. “Respecting the principle of equal treatment for shareholders and stock market regulations, Saint Gobain management is holding useful talks with Wendel, specifically on the possibility of board representation”, the company said in a statement late on 22 November. Wendel owns a 16.56% stake in Saint Gobain, according to a filing with the French market watchdog AMF on 14 November 2007.
