The Otto Schott Research Award that was first presented in 1991 is bestowed every two years to recognize outstanding scientific achievements in international glass research. The award valued at EUR 25,000 is mainly intended for younger researchers of up to 45 years of age. Candidates who are able to provide references on their excellent scientific performances in fundamental research and/or technology development in the areas of special materials, components and systems in the fields of optics, electronics, solar power, health and living are welcome to apply for the Otto Schott Research Award 2012. The final deadline for submitting applications is 30 June 2011, and these must be sent by mail or e-mail by writing to the Stifterverband fr die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors“ Association for the Promotion of Sciences), Barkhovenallee 1, 45239 Essen (Heidhausen), Germany.
