Japan“s Nippon Sheet Glass Co. said 24 November 2004 that it aims to more than double its pretax profit by the year ending March 2008, partly through focusing on such promising areas as electronics devices and displays. The Tokyo-based glass maker is aiming for a group pretax profit of JPY 25 billion in the fiscal year 2007, compared with JPY 12 billion that it predicts for the current fiscal year. It also aims for group sales of JPY 300 billion, higher than the JPY 260 billion in sales it forecasts for the current fiscal year.
