Learn how Vetropack manages its air emissions

The combustion of natural gas in our furnaces, and the melting of raw materials and cullet, generate emissions such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter (PM).

How do Vetropack addresses air pollution?

  • The company applies Best Available Techniques (BAT) to reduce emissions.
  • Measures include low-NOx burners, energy-efficient furnaces to reduce exhaust volumes, electrostatic precipitators for dust removal and DeNOx technologies to abate NOx in flue gases leaving the furnaces.
  • Air emissions are measured and monitored at production sites.
  • Vetropack complies with legally defined emission limits set by local authorities.

While air emissions cannot be fully avoided in glass production, transparency, compliance and continuous technical improvement are essential.
