At the end of 2022, HORN Glass Industries was commissioned by Düzce Cam to supply essential plant components for the hot end of a new float glass plant with a production capacity of 800 tonnes per day to be established in Bilecik, Türkiye. The scope of supply includes the glass melting furnace, the tin bath, the annealing lehr, a hot end automation system and the protective gas station.

Manufacturing of the individual components at HORN’s site in Plössberg, Germany has been largely completed. Construction work on site began on 20 April 2026. This week, an important first milestone of the large-scale project was celebrated: during a ceremonial stone-laying ceremony on 15 June 2026, the first stones of the new glass melting furnace were laid.

The commissioning of the new float glass plant is scheduled for April 2027.
