Fuyao Glass Industry Group Company Limited (Fuyao) recently conducted a ceremonial start-up of its first automobile float glass production line in Fujian Province. With a total investment of CNY 1.6 billion, the project will consume 40000 tonnes/annum soda ash and 1600 tonnes/annum of mirabilite. The company cooperated with PPG of USA to introduce advanced float glass production equipment and technology. Under the plan, Fuyao will build three automobile float glass production lines, each with a 600-tonne daily molten charge. The second and the third production lines will come on stream in 2005.
