10 September 1998: Spanish glass manufacturer Cristaleria Espanola, a quoted affiliate of French group Saint-Gobain, lifted interim net profits by 2.6% to Pta 7,305 million against the same period in 1997. Interim turnover rose by 12% to Pta 88,425 million. The capital and reserves of the Cristaleria Espanola group reached Pta 94,372 million. Flat glass sales rose by 28%, due to a positive trend in prices. Cristaleria Espanola commented that glass packaging sales did not experience a significant variation but said there would be an increase.
