Bremen-based brewing group Beck & Co. of Germany intends to sell its wholly-owned subsidiary Nienburger Glas GmbH. Beck has said that in the future, it wants to focus increasingly on its internationally-oriented activities in the beverages sector. For Nienburger Glas, based in Nienburg/Weser, separation is reportedly equally beneficial. The management of Nienburger Glas is working on the assumption that more market opportunities will open up if it is outside the Beck & Co. group. It is hoped that a partner with know-how in international markets will be found. Nienburger Glas produces clear and green glass containers. The company, which has a workforce of 1,236, had a turnover of DM 360 million in the 1998/1999 financial year.
