Zippe and Şişecam bring new batch plant into operation

Recently, Zippe Industrieanlagen achieved a major project milestone: a new batch plant for Şişecam’s facility in Tarsus, Türkiye, was successfully accepted and has now officially gone into operation. With this, the project has reached an important final stage.

The plant supplies a float glass line and is designed for a production capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day. Thanks to its modular concept, the capacity can be expanded in the future by adding an additional furnace. Production started in April 2026, following the start of installation in June 2025.

Zippe was responsible for the complete scope of supply, from initial planning through to commissioning. This included, among other things, basic design, manufacturing of the process technology, control system engineering, control cabinet manufacturing and the software solution based on Siemens PCS 7. These services were complemented by installation supervision and comprehensive commissioning support.

The plant scope includes two mixers with a usable volume of 7,500 litres each, 20 container scales, and four scales for minor components. In addition, numerous machines for transporting and distributing raw materials and cullet were supplied, along with two cullet crushers.

Under a separate contract, Zippe also delivered eight plus one float glass chargers including control systems, all of which were successfully commissioned.

This project exemplifies integrated engineering expertise, high-performance technology and the successful execution of complex industrial plants, fully in line with Zippe’s standards.
