Zhejiang Glass Co Ltd said it has secured letters of intent (LoIs) for purchase orders totalling some 1.2 million tons of soda ash for 2006, following a meeting in Delingha City, Qinghai Province with prospective clients. In a statement, the company said that the first phase of its soda ash production plant, which has an annual capacity of 900,000 tons, has been in normal operation following trial production at the end of September 2005. It said its production volume has been gradually rising, and that management expects the plant to reach full capacity in the 2Q of 2006.
