Greek glassware importer Yalco closed 1999 with profits of Dr 250 million compared with Dr 450 million the previous year. Turnover improved to Dr 7.4 billion from Dr 7.2 billion. The company attributes the fall in profits to stagnant sales and foreign exchange fluctuations. It sees an improvement, however, in its results this year: profits of Dr 600 million and turnover of Dr 8.51 billion.
