XPAR Vision: the youth has the future

XPAR Vision was present at the Beta Business Days career event to meet potential future staff

The Beta Business Days is a unique two-day career event for students from the Faculty of Science & Engineering of the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. At this event, career oriented students are given the opportunity to focus on their future job market through presentations, individual interviews, challenging cases and a business expo. Of course XPAR Vision was present to meet potential future staff.

The University of Groningen (RUG) is the second oldest university in The Netherlands. The renowned institute hosts about 50,000 students, with more than 7,000 of them international. Knowing that the city of Groningen is fairly isolated in the Northern parts of The Netherlands and has only 200,000 inhabitants, it is not difficult to imagine how young and vibrant this city is. Therefore, Groningen is the perfect place for our headquarters.

50 multinationals
The target audience of the Beta Business Days consists of over 5,000 bachelor, master and PhD students, looking for career perspectives, graduation projects, internships and jobs. More than 50 multinationals joined this event, with well-known companies like Shell, Deloitte, Scania, BASF, Tata Steel, Friesland Campina, ASML, TNO and CapGemini. XPAR Vision met a lot of students from applied physics, mathematics, artificial intelligence and computer science.

Sharp and focused
“We simply need good people!”, explained Sander de Jong, head of XPAR Vision’s development team. “Although we have a very strong team already, we are always looking for new talents. During these Beta Business Days we present ourselves to the new generation of developers. We expect to attract some of them to help us shape the future. In our portfolio of hot end sensor and robot solutions we have to meet challenges by constantly developing and integrating our products and by creating artificial intelligence methods to process the collected data as fast and accurate as we can. Our business model is based on the technological lead we have in the global market. To keep that lead we have to be sharp and focused.”
