Vitro Chaves- Indstria de Vidro S.A., Vitro“s subsidiary in Portugal, supplied all of the architectural glass for the faade of one of the most important oil companies in Angola – Sociedad Nacional de Combustibles de Angola (Sonangol) Laboratories. The building represented an investment of approximately USD 23 million and is situated in the Sonilis Business Park, where several multinational petroleum companies are located, near the port and capital Luanda. The total amount of glass installed on the exterior of the building is 5,920 square feet comprised of: 6mm Solarlux Blue, 12mm AR Templex Chamber glass and Multipact Incolor, all from the Isolar Solarlux product line, comments Jorge-Alberto Yarte – Sada, commercial director for Vitro Chaves – Industria de Vidro, S.A. He adds that this particular product line plays a very key role in the energy control between the exterior and interior of a building by fixing the quantity of light and heat transfer reaching the structure“s interior. Our solar energy control windows, Isolar Solarlux, matched perfectly the specifications for very high thermal energy performance in the building, as they are an important regulator when excessive solar heat penetration to the interior be avoided and savings on cooling costs is desired, he explains.
