Representatives from the Vietnam Glass and Ceramic Corporation (Viglacera) are scheduled to fly to Ukraine and Cuba this month to execute projects to build factories producing sanitary wares there following the signing of memoranda of understanding in mid-April. An official from Viglacera“s foreign department said Viglacera and the Ukrainian Material Corporation would invest US$ 4-4.5 million in a 50:50 joint venture capable of producing 150,000 units of the sanitary ware per annum. The official said Viglacera exported around US$ 1 million worth of products to Ukraine annually. The planned factory, therefore, will help the corporation to save big production costs. In addition, Viglacera would coordinate with the Ceramic Corporation of Cuba to build a sanitary ware factory capitalized at somewhere between US$ 4 million and US$ 5 million. The 50:50 joint venture has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.
