Spain“s Vidrala SA said it is “more optimistic on the possibility of a year-on-year improvement in earnings over the next few years” because of the recovery in the glass sector over 2003. In a statement, glass packaging manufacturer Vidrala said net profit increased to EUR 17.7 million in the full year to 31 December 2003 from EUR 15.5 million a year earlier, as sales went up 17.6% to EUR 147 million from EUR 125 million. EBITDA increased 12.4% to EUR 38.8 million from EUR 34.5 million, while net cash flow slipped 3.45% to EUR 31.67 million, due to financial costs, lower one-time gains and higher tax payments.
