German diversified utility Viag AG said it was continuing talks with parties interested in buying its majority stake in Gerresheimer Glas and was aiming for a sale decision by the end of May. Viag indirectly holds 51% of Gerresheimer, a manufacturer of glass containers for use in the food, drink, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries. The talks on the sale come as Viag and Veba AG, which are merging to form Europe“s third largest utility, divest of non-core assets to focus on their multi-utility strategy.
