Valmiera had earlier planned 1998 profits of 850,000 lats on sales of 10.8 million lats compared to 740,000 lats net profit a year earlier. The company said its nine-month net profit was 824,000 lats, 97% of its 1998 target. Its nine-month turnover was 9.91 million lats. Its 1997 turnover was 10.3 million lats.
