The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) has announced that it is seeking to improve its members“ contacts with university groups working on all aspects of vision and relevant image processing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. Building on an initial database created in late 1994, UK universities are now being invited to submit entries to a register which will be exclusively available to members to help them identify external development resources and potential university/industry partnerships. An opportunity for these university research groups to show the world what they are working on and the vision-related development which they have available for eventual commercial exploitation under licence will be the UKIVA-sponsored “University Research Aisle“ at IPOT, the Image Processing and Optic Technology exhibition which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on 28-29 February 1996.
