In the first half of 2000, the Italian industry for machinery, accessories and special products for glassworks confirmed the positive trend of the previous year. The Italian Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) has made data available confirming the positive trend in the sector between January and June 2000, which underline a general increase of exportation compared to the same period in 1999. The considerable decrease in imports in such an active market is probably due to an increase in demand, confirming the direction the Italian industry had already taken towards the end of 1999.
