Taiwan Glass Industry Corp. has started construction of its new plant in the province of Anhui, east China. The plant, which covers 57.3 hectares in Fengyang county industrial park, will be built using investments of USD 100 million. Two production lines of energy-saving and flat glass will have a total production capacity of 738,000 tons per year. According to the Taiwanese manufacturer of glass, following the commissioning of the plant by the end of 2012, the expected annual income from sales will reach CNY 1.8 billion (USD 273 million).
