Taiwan Glass Group has announced that it has signed an agreement with Green Energy Technology for the production of photovoltaic material for solar cells. The parties will initially invest USD 93 million to fund the building of a factory, scheduled to come on stream in March 2011, with output mostly going to cell maker Green Energy. The factory will be built on a science industry park developed by the Formosa Plastics Group, a Taiwanese conglomerate of diverse interests, including biotechnology, petrochemical processing, and production of electronics components, in Taoyuan County in northern Taiwan, which is near another industrial park in which Green Energy stands.
