Russian glass producer Stekloholding (in the Gus-Khrustalny district of Vladimir region) has invested US$ 10 million in reconstruction production of glass bottles at Krasnoye Ekho Joint Stock Company in the village of Krasnoye Ekho, Gus-Khrustalny district. The production capacity at the plant will be 140 million bottles per annum and it is planned to reach this level of production by the end of this year, he said. According to the company, this will allow it to increase bottle production 40% to 350 million units per annum. The company supplies bottles to alcohol producers in Russia and the CIS. Together with Turkish Efes, which owns 91% of shares in the Moscow-Efes Brewery, the firm is looking into the possibility of reconstructing Urshelsky Glass Plant, controlling shares in which belong to Stekloholding. The preliminary cost of the project amounts to over US$ 10 million and the company has a capacity of almost 200 million bottles per annum. It is planned that work may begin in September. Stekloholding united the Glass Scientific Research Institute, Experimental Plant and Urshelsky Glass Plant (Vladimir region). In the first half of the year, the company produced 50% more than in the same period last year.
