Solvay Sisecam Holding, which comprises the Belgian chemicals concern Solvay, Turkey“s Sisecam and the EBRD, has bought the 12.4 per cent stake in the Sodi Devnya soda ash producer previously owned by the Bulgarian state. Solvay Sisecam currently holds 79.3 per cent of the Devnya-based plant. The holding company acquired the stake in a block deal on 25 October, the 780,000 shares changing hands at 6.6 levs (US$ 2.81) a share. Solvay Sisecam also plans to buy out the remaining 20.7 per cent of Sodi Devnya.
