A recent report from CMAI showed the ownership of the global soda ash industry. 60% is owned by US companies, 24% by Asian companies, and 16% by European Union companies. FMC is the largest owner, according to the report, followed by Solvay and IMC. Other companies included are General Chemical, Union Pacific, Sumitomo, Tosoh, Owens Glass, Nippon Sheet Glass, Asahi Glass and Oriental Chemical.
