Lead crystal glass manufacturer Sklo Bohemia of the Czech Republic has announced that it annually renews about 100 shapes of its products. The firm“s production programme includes 80,000 kinds of products, half of which are represented by plain and cut drinking glassware. Sklo Bohemia exports about 70% of its production, mainly via the export firm Skloexport, also of the Czech Republic. The firm“s largest consumer countries are the UK, Japan, Germany and Australia, although it has started to assert itself in Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and China during the last few years. Sklo Bohemia has also announced that it is not going to pay dividends for 1995 due to the level of its realised investments. The company“s net profit was Czk 34.265 million in 1995. It manufactured lead crystal glassware worth Czk 433.2 million in 1995, roughly 40% of inland production. Sklo Bohemia“s proceeds decreased to Czk 680 million in 1995 compared to Czk 714 million in 1994, due mainly to a decrease in prices on the foreign markets and a drop of the rate of the US dollar.
