Şişecam Group is now among the first 100 in “Best Emerging Markets Performers” rating according to the Viego Eiris Sustainability Index 2018 Assessment in which 855 companies in 35 sectors in 31 countries participated

Şişecam Group was included in the “Best Emerging Markets Performers” list which contains 100 companies from all over the world. The list is within the scope of the Viego Eiris Sustainability Index 2018 Assessment in which 855 companies from 35 sectors in 31 countries were included. The group is one of the most established enterprises in Turkey and is a global actor in business fields including all main areas of glass industry, i.e. flat glass, glassware, glass packaging and glass fibre, as well as soda and chromium chemicals. Today Şişecam, the world’s leading supplier of chromium compounds and the 10th largest soda ash producer in the world, is the 3rd largest glassware, the 5th largest glass packaging and flat glass manufacturer globally.

In this research, which is repeated every 6 months, environment, human rights, human resources, social and economic status of the society, business manner, corporate governance categories are taken as the basis. The companies are assessed within the frame of the works they carry out in the fields of human rights, decent employment practices, environmental protection, corporate governance, business ethics and social and economic development in areas where they operate.
