A Serbian fruit and vegetables processing company has been honored with a prestigious award for its glass packaging. Glasspac, the packaging promotions arm of the British Glass Manufacturers“ Confederation, has awarded first prize for 2003 in the Shine Awards international category to Fresh&Co“s bottles for its NeXt juice brand, it was reported on 9 February 2004. The category is sponsored by Emhart Glass. Fresh&Co“s NeXt bottle beat some 100 glass designs worldwide to win the prize. In the opinion of the Shine Awards jury, the NeXt bottle is “distinctive and technically challenging, allowing NeXt fruit juices to compete in the convenience market as well as on the breakfast table. The ergonomically friendly design is complemented by the embossed brand name around the base of the bottle.” The bottle was designed by local designer Branko Lukic and manufactured by United Hungarian Glass Containers. Fresh&Co is based in Subotica, northern Serbia.
