Selas Heat Technology relocates manufacturing

Selas Heat Technology has relocated its manufacturing operations to a new plant in Streetsboro, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, which covers 73,500 square feet with ample of room for expansion on its eight acres of land.

Selas Heat Technology Company LLC has announced that it has opened a new manufacturing plant in Streetsboro, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. The facility will serve as the company’s new Global Headquarters. The modern building covers 73,500 square feet with ample of room for expansion on its eight acres of land. As company growth began to accelerate in 2012, the owners decided to take advantage of economic incentives available in the Northeast Ohio area to upgrade the facilities and consolidate its Pyronics and Ray Burner product lines already being manufactured in Cleveland. During this quarter, the Selas core product line that had been manufactured in Montgomeryville PA also started moving to Streetsboro, and is expected to be complete this month. So far, over 30 new jobs have been added at the new facility exceeding the committed amounts. The Selas project was awarded the 2013 Cleveland Plus award for “Business Attraction with less than 100 Employees”.
“We started our expansion in the industrial combustion business in 2009 with the acquisition of Pyronics, and followed that in 2011 with the purchase of the Ray Burner product line and then Maxsys Fuel Systems,” said David S. Bovenizer, Chief Executive Officer of Selas. “At the end of 2012, Red-Ray Manufacturing joined the Selas brand family, followed immediately in early 2013 by Ensign Ribbon Burner. Consolidating manufacturing of several brands in one US location will enable accelerated investment in new product development, application engineering and sales resources resulting from operating cost savings from economy of scale, material sourcing and manufacturing productivity, and it will provide centralized control of all administrative functions.” Selas’ US consolidation will not affect the company’s other manufacturing and sales locations in Germany, England and Japan.
The new facility in Streetsboro, along with a well-educated and talented labour pool, is positioned to provide room for many years of growth, “including some potential additional acquisitions, if they look attractive,” added Bovenizer, also a founding partner of Lionheart Ventures, a private equity firm. “We’ll take a hard look at any related brand that makes for a good fit with our core combustion products.”
