SCHOTT Solar“s latest product, the double-glass Poly 290 module, has come through TV Rheinland“s PV+ testing process with a final assessment of very good“. The successful testing of the module further enhances Schott“s reputation as one of the leading manufacturers in the industry. Despite the existence of other certification bodies, such as Stiftung Warentest and IEC standards, the endorsement of technical services provider TV carries considerable weight in the PV industry. The process examines modules“ performance, resistance to ageing, documentation, electrical safety, manufacturing quality, guarantee and assembly characteristics, and after the first round of testing the Poly 290 was the highest-ranked of the eight modules under examination. Once again, the excellent results prove us right with our strategy of putting quality first. Our modules provide investors and operators of solar systems with a reliable basis for planning throughout the entire life of the system, said Schott“s CEO, Dr. Martin Heming. Testing also showed the Schott module to be capable of delivering constant electrical output, even after being subjected to ageing tests and when operating above its capacity. Our modules need to pass tough tests of their resilience to environmental influences, as well as internal checks that are stricter than the stipulations of the required testing criteria, said Schott“s product manager, Neus Ferr. The successful launch of the Poly 290 inspired Schott to expand its range of double-glass technology and in April it is set to launch the 24kg Poly 185.
