The GPP Award Sustainable Projects and green Public Procurement ceremony took place in Rome on 8 July. The contest was promoted by the Finance Ministry and Consip, under the patronage of the Department of the Environment. During the ceremony, the winners of GPP 2011 award, identified among all the competitors by the Evaluating Commission, were announced. Sangalli Vetro Manfredonia S.p.A. was the winner in the category for big industries, thanks to its organic approach to environmental sustainability. The company“s furnace heat recovery plant, and its transformation in electrical energy, were particularly considered worthy of receiving the award.
