San.Co: Isofireglass used for renovation of Milan Central Station

Isofireglass®, an innovative class REI 30’ and REI 60’ glass fire barrier with open ‘joints’, exclusively distributed and installed in Italy by San.Co®, has been used in the renovation of the Central Station in Milan, Italy.

Isofireglass®, an innovative class REI 30’ and REI 60’ glass fire barrier with open ‘joints’, exclusively distributed and installed in Italy by San.Co®, revolutionizes, says the Italian company, the concept of REI glass partition fire barriers.
Isofireglass® combines the need for fire-resistance with the ever-growing requirement for perfect distribution of natural light, as well as innovative and original design. These glass systems, therefore, can be used to implement innovative solutions or as integrations in existing constructions.
Isofireglass® is a principle: create compartments in fire-resistant glass ensuring maximum transparency thanks to open joints whereby the panes are simply aligned next to each other, resulting in a safe, bright and modern installation.
An example of this type of installation is that of the Central Station of Milan, in northern Italy. The underground interchange with the metro station is also a 70-metre shopping centre, and where the need and request for fire-resistance and maximum transparency were essential.
The new ticket office also uses these specifications, while existing fitting – between the halls and the monumental staircase – were also made resistant to fire, and returned to their original glory.
