Brazilian glassmaker Vidraria Santa Marina, recently renamed Saint-Gobain Vidros, officially terminated operation on the Brazilian capital market on 7 December 2000. French parent Saint-Gobain announced the delisting of the company but has not disclosed conditions for rebuying the stock from the market. These conditions were to be defined after the shareholders“ meeting scheduled for 18 December 2000. Following the same logic applied by other multinationals present in Brazil, Saint-Gobain decided to close its activities on the Brazilian stock market since it can find cheaper financing on the capital market of the parent company.
