Vetroflam, Vetrotech Saint Gobain’s advanced range of fire resistant glass has been developed to meet the new radiation control classification of Euronorm EN 357 July 2000. This new product is aimed especially for malls, commercial complexes, retails spaces and office buildings.
Vetrotech Saint Gobain has developed an advanced range of fire resistant glass – Vetroflam – targeted towards malls, commercial complexes, retails spaces and office buildings.
SGG Vetroflam has been developed to meet the new radiation control classification of Euronorm EN 357 July 2000. As a 6mm thick single sheet, the product provides in excess of 60 minutes integrity, and demonstrates a significant reduction in the transmission of radiated heat through the glass – typically less than 15kW/m² from a distance of 1 metre.
For symmetrical performance SGG Vetroflam is available as a standard 12.76mm thickness.
SGG Vetroflam’s unique performance and abilities are best illustrated when the product is incorporated into double glazed units.
Solar control glass types such as SGG Parsol, SGG Antelio and SGG Cool-Lite can easily be incorporated. Existing BS 476: Part 2 certification allows the use of SGG Vetroflam in any previously certified system for 60 minutes integrity (EW60) up to a maximum size of over 5m².
SGG Vetroflam double glazed units are able to achieve U-values of less than 1.8W/m²K combining fire resistance with high performance architectural glass thermal insulation and in full compliance with Document L.
In the event of fire SGG Vetroflam provides an effective barrier against the passage of smoke, flames and hot toxic gases. By remaining transparent and fully intact SGG Vetroflam allows persons making their escape and rescue services to be fully aware of any impending danger.
Rapid access can be achieved safely to facilitate hose access, smoke evacuation and rescue efforts. A sharp blow from an axe will safely evacuate the opening, leaving behind harmless fragments of glass.
SGG Vetroflam can be easily employed for both internal and external applications. Ideal for installation into steel frames and doors for vertical applications. SGG Vetroflam double glazed units can provide symmetrical performance and be used in both vertical and sloped applications.
