Saint-Gobain Glass Romania has raised its share capital by EUR 12 million through a cash contribution, a decision approved by the company“s partners in April 2006, it was reported on 13 June 2006. The company“s share capital will be ROL 297.2 million. The whole share capital was subscribed and paid in, with the company“s main shareholder being Societe Financiere d“Administration et de Gestion, which owns a 99.99% stake. The company will begin flat glass production from a EUR 100 million plant at Calarasi in September 2006. The plant will have a daily capacity of 600 tonnes destined for the construction industry. Sales will be split evenly between the domestic and export markets, in particular Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece. The company started building work on the Calarasi site in May 2005.
