Efficient and reliable glass handling is a key success factor in modern glass processing. The systron automated portal loading system provides a robust and industry-focused solution specifically designed for vertical glass processing and high-throughput production.
Performance and handling in defined production ranges
The system is engineered for typical flat glass applications and operates within clearly defined parameters. Glass sheets from 600 by 200 millimetres up to 3,500 by 2,500 millimetres can be processed, with thicknesses up to 17 millimetres and a maximum weight of 380 kiloggrams. Even at maximum sheet size, cycle times remain below one minute, ensuring a stable and continuous material flow.
Glass is automatically picked from L-racks using optimised vacuum technology and transferred safely into the production line. This guarantees reliable gripping and gentle handling, including for sensitive coated glass such as Low-E. Both rectangular and shaped glass can be processed within the defined range, enabling flexible use in industrial environments.
Efficiency, reliability and reduced complexity
Unlike robotic loading systems, the portal solution is based on a mechanically guided 4-axis structure. This reduces system complexity significantly while ensuring stable and repeatable motion sequences in daily operation. The result is high reliability, low maintenance effort and predictable performance.
By automating the loading process, manufacturers benefit from a consistent, operator-independent material flow. In practice, this can lead to efficiency gains of up to 25 to 40 percent, while simultaneously reducing manual handling. This not only improves productivity but also enhances ergonomics and safety in the workplace.
The systron portal loading system can be integrated into both new and existing production lines and combined with storage solutions for a continuous, automated material flow.
