French glass and building materials maker Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA said third-quarter sales rose 7.8% as business continued to pick up, and confirmed its earnings guidance for the full year. Saint Gobain reported that sales in the three months to 30 September rose to EUR 10.48 billion from EUR 9.72 billion a year earlier, above an average forecast of EUR 10.31 billion according to a Dow Jones Newswires survey of four analysts. Saint-Gobain“s shares have gained 14.1% over the past month, outperforming the CAC-40 index.
