Czech Republic glass producer Sahm CS has said it expects 2000 sales to reach Kc 387 million, a nearly 15% improvement on the previous year. Sahm CS director Pavel Bobosik attributed the increase to expanding activities and rising exports to Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia. Exports account for 32% of total sales. During 2000, the company invested about Kc 19 million in new technology and opened a plant in Vysoke Myto, in eastern Bohemia. During the third quarter of 2000, the Sahm CS group underwent restructuring and a new group emerged, comprising Sahm s.r.o., Sahm Slovakia and Bohemia Line of Russia. The group has a share capital of Kc 50 million and cooperates closely with the German firm Sahm Gmbh, with which it is linked in terms of capital. Sahm CS was established in 1991 and currently employs 220 people, up from 140 staff in 1999.
