Finnish engineering group Raute recorded a profit of FM 9 million before extraordinary items in 1999, down from FM 43 million in 1998. Turnover fell to FM 537 million from FM 688 million. However, the volume of orders increased and the company expects order intake to continue rising. Market prospects are favourable in both Europe and North America.
