Quartz Group reportedly intends to start trial production of quartz sand in Kormilovskom, Omsk, in November 2011. Test production should take place during the first phase of construction of the new Irtysh modern mining and processing complex.
Among potential clients, the biggest architectural glassmaker in Europe – AGC Glass Europe – which has already started the search in the Omsk region area for a modern plant.
Documents to conclude the lease contract for the construction of the plant are almost completed. Capacity during the first stage will be 500 thousand tons of sand.
