Quanex Building Products Corporation, a global supplier of insulating glass components, extrusions and fenestration products, will debut its innovative lineup of products and services at GlassBuild 2011, 12-14 September, in Atlanta. In the past year, the company has strategically aligned Mikron, Truseal Technologies, Edgetech I.G. and Homeshield with the goal of furthering the fenestration industry through high-performance products, creative marketing support, technical services and the expertise necessary to help customers grow their businesses in the competitive marketplace. GlassBuild will be an exciting event for Quanex Building Products and our customers, said Mike Hovan, senior vice president, sales and marketing for the Quanex Engineered Products Group. Our companies and our customers represent the best in the industry in terms of technical expertise, operational excellence and energy efficiency. We look forward to bringing all of this knowledge together for networking, sharing of best practices and, of course, a little fun. Subject-matter experts will be on-hand at Quanex“s GlassBuild booth (#415) to discuss challenges and opportunities currently affecting fenestration companies. The booth will also feature integrated high-performance window and door systems, including energy-efficient IG components, extrusions and fenestration components from Quanex companies, including: MikronWood next generation composite material, which boasts the beauty of wood with the weather-resistant, no-maintenance advantages of vinyl or fiberglass. MikronWood also offers superior resistance to thermal conductivity with k-values that are 63% better than wood and 83% better than fiberglass. EnergyCore frame and Duralite spacer window system, which, in combination, reduce thermal conductivity by up to 45% and achieve R-5 with a triple-pane glass configuration. This performance is achieved by eliminating metal and replacing more than 60% of the spacer profile with air space. New additions to the EnergyCore product line will also be introduced at GlassBuild, including single-hung and slider options. Super Spacer dual-seal warm edge spacer systems that are backed by more than 20 years of field performance in commercial and residential applications worldwide. The all-foam construction of Super Spacer products provides superior thermal performance, condensation resistance and long-term durability. ImperiClad moisture-impervious door frame system with MikronWood that includes a water-shedding threshold with unique energy-efficient, weather-stripped jambs.
