US-based Praxair, Inc. announced that its San Antonio, Texas, plant has received ISO 9002 certification. The plant produces gas delivery systems for use with semiconductor process gases including gas cabinets, valve manifold boxes, gas isolation boxes, and bulk speciality gas source control systems. ISO 9002 registration certifies that Praxair“s manufacturing operation has a comprehensive process-based system in place to provide high quality gas delivery systems to semiconductor manufacturers. “ISO 9002 registration is a key milestone in our drive to total quality management. This drive will enable us to deliver gas handling systems that consistently meet customer expectations,” said Nick Farrah, Praxair“s Gas Delivery Systems Business Manager. “Ultimately, our goal is to continually provide our customers with a higher quality gas delivery system,” said Frank Crespo, vice president of Praxair“s Semiconductor Materials Business. “I am very proud of our team in San Antonio. They are committed to excellence in every area of production to help our customers avoid costly downtime.” Praxair had sales of US$ 4.6 billion in 1999.
