US-based PPG Industries Inc. has sold minority interests in three Chinese glass businesses to Japan“s Asahi Glass Co. Financial terms of the sale were not immediately available. In a recent press release, PPG said it sold a minority interest in a fourth Chinese glass plant, in which Asahi had an interest, to a Chinese manufacturing firm. PPG said it made the sales because of excess capacity and a lack of strong revenue in the Chinese glass industry.
