Piramal Glass has been acknowledged for its progress towards lean with a “Silver Certificate of Merit” in the 2010 India Manufacturing Excellence Award, and is the first company of the glass industry to receive this distinction. This year, the Awards Committee received 174 applications which were assessed as per 14 factors with 455 check points and gives a score out of 1200 points, including the organization“s emphasis on Customer Focus, Safety & Environment, Innovation, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Leadership Commitment and so on. The India Manufacturing Excellence Award was started up in 2004 with the aim of recognizing Indian manufacturing competitiveness on a global scale.
