According to the Syrian press, UK glassmaker Pilkington has submitted a proposal to the Syrian government to establish a S 130 million joint British-Syrian float glass operation. Pilkington plans to develop the project into the biggest float glass manufacturing unit in the Middle East in cooperation with the Syrian Glass Industries and Clay Public Company.
